Nicol Construction was founded and is run by James Nicol, who has lived on Salt Spring Island since 1994. With deep roots in the community and decades of hands-on experience, James brings a practical, straightforward approach to every project.

James earned his Red Seal in Carpentry from Camosun College in 2004 and went on to establish Nicol Construction in 2007. After more than a decade of building custom homes, renovations, and additions across the island, the business was formally incorporated in 2019.

As a family-run company, Nicol Construction is built on long-term relationships, quality craftsmanship, and a strong local reputation. James remains directly involved in every project, working closely with clients and the crew to ensure each build is done right.
