Nicol Construction is a locally owned residential construction company founded by James Nicol and based on Salt Spring Island, specializing in custom homes, renovations, and additions.

A full custom home build generally takes about one year from start to finish. Timelines can vary depending on project complexity, permitting, site conditions, and material availability, but most new builds fall within this range. We provide clear scheduling expectations upfront and keep clients informed throughout the process.
Our crew currently includes two journeyman carpenters and three apprentices. Work is led and supervised by experienced tradespeople on site at all times, ensuring quality workmanship, proper oversight, and steady progress throughout the build.
